NAGT is open to any amateur golfer. Open and Senior flights are featured at all tournaments along with side contests for Super Seniors, Ladies, Vets, and First Responders. The local tour director will work with you to determine proper flight placement. Click Here to Join for FREE.

NAGT offers fun competition for golfers of all abilities. Whether you are a scratch golfer, struggle to shoot double par, or are somewhere in between (like most of us), you will be placed in a flight against similar competition. Tournament golf is a great challenge to help you get better while meeting great people.

Absolutely. That's how we all started. The Values of NAGT are Camaraderie, Competition, and Charity. Your fellow competitors and our tournament staff will help you along the way. If you are still nervous, let your local tour director know and they will pair you with competitors who are welcoming and accustomed to playing with newer members.

NAGT offers separate flights for seniors (50+). In addition, NAGT is the only major amateur tour to offer super-senior divisions (65+) at Regional Majors and at National Championships. At a local event, if the field size dictates that non-senior and senior divisions get combined, the seniors will play from a shorter set of tees.

Most definitely. When possible, based upon field size, separate flights will be established. When not possible, men and women of equal skill will be combined in the same flight with the women playing a more forward tee box. Most of of our local tours will also feature a Ladies Net game. We crown a Ladies National Champion each year so please help us spread the word and help grow the game together!  

Flights are typically within 3.5 stroke increments. See the Player Guide for specific details. Are 1st Flight is for players up to a 4.4 hcp while Flight 5 is for players 18+hcp. 

We are the only major amateur golf tour that believes strongly that membership should be optional and at no cost. You can play and win locally. For those who want to support the tour on more a full time basis; we offer annual membership with increased benefits like lower entry fees, sponsored gifts, and priority at Majors and Nationals if you like to travel. Please see the Membership page for specific details.

The tournament entry fees vary based upon location and format. Tournament costs are held as low as possible and frequently provide access to exclusive, private clubs at a rate far below their typical guest fee. Local tour directors set the entry cost for each event. Tournaments can run as low as $75-200 locally and average around $500-700 for National multi round events . See the Tournament schedule page for details. All Tournaments include green, cart, range, prize pool, and tournament fees. 

• Local tournaments are run by the local tour director within a specific market. A variety of formats, games, and sponsors are the creativity of the local director which is what makes the NAGT unique. All award points and a prize pool. 
• Regional Majors are larger 2 day events open to anyone; however, NAGT members get first access. These events are 36 hole stroke play championships that offer larger prize pools, tee gifts from national sponsors, and attract the top golfers from areas like the West, South, East, and Midwest part of the country.
• National Championships are the ultimate competition and celebration of the game we all love! Nationals bring players together from all tours and all over North America for the #1 player experience in AM Golf! The format is stroke play, 54 holes, and features a boosted prize pool for the National Champions from each flight and division!

No. NAGT abides by all amateur golf rules established by the USGA®. 

NAGT events conform to USGA® rules and are typically individual stroke play events.  Any local rules or differences for specific events (e.g. 2-person team event) will be made known by the local tour director.
